Hastings Municipal Building

The Hastings Municipal Building was built in 1916 adjacent to the 1915 Municipal Theatre, to provide new premises for the Hastings Borough Council. It incorporated Council Chambers and offices, the Assembly hall and retail shops along Heretaunga Street. Matthews & Matthews Architects are engaged for works associated with the seismic upgrading and proposed redevelopment of the building as a performing arts and cultural facility.
