Blackstone chambers, auckland
Blackstone Chambers in Wyndham Street, Auckland was built around 1870 and is one of the earliest commercial buildings remaining in central Auckland. Through a conservation-based approach to strengthening and upgrading, the building has been successfully adapted for continued use as legal chambers. The project included earthquake strengthening, upgrading services and fire egress, and connecting the building to a small courtyard.
Blackstone Chambers was awarded a Silver Medal for Heritage and Restoration in the New Zealand Commercial Projects Awards in 2017.
